Designed for our youngest dancers, our Terrific Twos class is a great introduction to dance for your child as they explore movement through music. This class emphasizes creative dance exploration and basic understanding of musicality, while promoting the development of social skills at an important age.
Creative Movement is a basic introduction to dance, where your child will learn more about the beginning stages of musicality, including rhythm and counting, as they creatively explore movement to music. Your child will learn the art and love of dance in this class as our instructors cultivate their passion for rhythmic movement.
This class is a combination class: 30 minutes of tap and 30 minutes of ballet. The dancers will gain a sense of rhythm and musicality within their movement as they learn about tap and step to the beat.
K-Dance is a combination class, with 30 minutes of tap, 30 minutes of ballet, and an overall basic introduction to jazz. Dancers work on terminology, basic positions and expanding their knowledge in technique, as they creatively test their skills in a structured and supported setting.
This class is also a combination class, with 30 minutes of tap and 30 minutes of ballet, incorporated with basic jazz dance. It is here that our young dancers begin to get a grasp on the techniques of each style, and learn basic patterns used in dance to move across the floor.
The dancers will experience 30 minutes of tap, working on musicality, rhythm, articulation of sounds and terminology; and 30 minutes of jazz, where they will begin stretching and learning the basics of jazz dance. They will further their exploration and understanding of the movement patterns in tap, adding in hops, shuffles and even brush steps.
Ballet Basics at Charlotte Klein Dance Centers serves as the full introduction to classical ballet technique. This class will deepen your child’s knowledge of ballet-specific terminology, movements and overall style.
The ballet program at Charlotte Klein Dance Centers focuses on the classical style of ballet dance and technique. Learning ballet helps with coordination, muscle toning, discipline of the mind, and an understanding of body, posture and grace.
Our tap program reinforces the percussive dance style and how to make rhythmical sounds with the feet in dance. In this class, our dancers learn the structure of tap including the mathematics, tempo and patterns specific to tap style.
The jazz program at Charlotte Klein Dance Centers teaches the main elements of this style. These proper techniques include isolations of the body, such as moving just the head and neck to a beat while remaining stationary, and improvisation within rhythm.
This class helps our students to become more emotionally connected and grounded in their dancing. Creativity in movement is explored with improvisation, and it is here that our dancers begin to define their sense of style in their own technique.
In this program, we look at the basic elements of this dance style— popping, locking, waving, breaking and house dancing. Each week, we spend time on choreography and work on an across the floor combination with new steps while placing an emphasis on traveling.
This class is designed to complement the dance training received at Charlotte Klein Dance Centers. Acro dance emphasizes smooth, graceful transitions from dancing to each acrobatic move, and focuses on movement with incorporated feats of agility and motor coordination.
This is another supplemental class designed to help our students further their skills. This class is specifically for the dancer who wishes to perfect and refine their skills of turning, jumping and leaping.
As an introductory dance class, Boys Jazz Funk will let your child creatively explore dance movement in a high-energy setting with non-stop action. We use popular, upbeat music to pump up the fun while training our male students in basic dance technique.
Do something fun for yourself! This class will teach the basics of the jazz dance technique while helping you to achieve a great cardio workout, as well as moves for conditioning, core strengthening and stretching. As a beginner dance class, you can enroll in this program even if you’ve never danced a day in your life.
